Abad Green Forest Resort is not in any forest. It is on the busy main street of Thekkady town. It is conveniently located, near to all spice markets, eating places and theatres showing Kathakali, the ancient dance form from Kerala. It is about 2 km from the Periyar wild life sanctuary.

Accommodation:

The rooms have their names with "Jungle" in them, but no real jungles around, except for an improvised coconut farm facing the spacious private porches or balconies. The rooms are well appointed, and kept very clean. The TV set in our room belonged to the 1990s, and the remote needed special attention.

Facilities:

The pool is clean and reasonably big, and the restaurant is great. The staff are very courteous. There is room service, but only snacks. No dinner served in the room. The hotel has a spice garden of its own if you wish to learn some thing about spices. Make sure you enjoy the Kathakali dance in a theatre bang opposite to this hotel.
